about
Hello! I’m Corin. I’m a designer working in the area of design systems for native apps. aeop is my blog about wandering down internet rabbit holes on design and really any other old things that seem interesting.
All opinions expressed here are my own.
Etymology
The name aeop is an acronym which stands for an axpression of purpose, derived from an interview with Charles Eames (also speaking on behalf of Ray Eames) in the film Design Q & A. In which Madame L’Amic speaks with the designer for the exhibition Qu’est ce que le design? (What is Design?) at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Palais de Louvre, 1972.
L’Amic: Is Design an expression of art?
Eames: I would rather say it’s an expression of purpose. It may, if it is good enough, later be judged as art.
